hey db! I totally missed the live show (again)- any plans on archiving it to watch later??? Possibly a vid download on itunes?
getting excited about the trip yet??!
There isn’t and I’ll tell ya why.
Each of us has our own video stream. We then display all three streams on 1 page for viewing. The only way to record (for now) is for each of us to record our own streams. Then, we could make them available, but they audio would NEVER sync.
Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll do it again very soon!
Gabe, don’t worry. That section, flugplatz, had been shaved for safety reasons so it’s harder to get airborne.
Just floor it and go. 🙂
I know but ideally I’d like to get a little airborne 🙂
Dude, you’re gonna be sick and tired of being “Airborne” by the time you land, lol. And if you’re flying from Chicago… you might even have a direct flight, which is convenient, but LONG. 🙂
Both trips you guys are planning sounds like boatloads of fun. Hope you all have a blast in Europe. Will look forward to hearing all the stories you guys bring back.
Yeah – it’s a direct flight, 9 glorious hours of it.
Tired of being airborne? Never!
Tired of being wedging your 6’2″ frame into a seat made for a midget lol. However after 9 hours of flight the seats in the R56 will be pure heaven.
> Gabe, don’t worry. That section, flugplatz, had been shaved for safety reasons so it’s harder to get airborne.
Wow, taken out of context, that’s a really disturbing quote!
An aisle seat will be the only way I survive. But yes, thos R56 seats will be bliss after that.
are coco mats available for MINI if not why not??
Only way I have survived my trips across the pond. Hoping all you guys have a massive fun time over there, the ring, the insider factory tour, mini united, what else can I say but WOOT for you all. Hope you know all three of you are responsible to bring back stories for all of us lol.
While you guys tour the factory see if you can slip a peek at my factory JCW 😉
Hey db, did you see my comment in your blog (“Travel Plans”; it still says awaiting moderation). Are you guys getting a special factory tour? Regular public tours are suspended from June 15th because of the Clubman.
Hey RK,
Just un-modded your comment. Sorry for the delay. I didn’t see it sneak in.
Anyway, we have been told that we will get the VIP tour, whatever that is, with the opportunity to interview an employee or two as well. Should be a ton of fun!
I’m curious about the discussion you had about !st Gen OEM wheels not fitting on 2nd Gen cars. At least that’s what i thought was said. I think the reason given was the change in Lug bolts used. I just bought some used JCW R105’s for my late 2006 build MCS. When I swapped out my S-Lites, I noticed my bolts are the new style, with the fine rather than coarse thread and I believe a thicker bolt diameter as well. The used JCW wheels fit fine. Are you guys saying the 2nd Gen wheels/hubs are different in some other way besides the new style bolts?
I’m curious, since I would want to carry these JCW wheels over if I ever get a 2nd Gen…
Tom – You CAN move 02-06 style MINI wheels to the R56 with no problem but not the other way i.e. R56 wheels are officially not compatible with the R50/R53.
Your JCW105s will fit an R56.
