Woofcast #250

We start off with some rambling, some MTTS stuff and a reminder that we do accept, quite gladly in fact, beverages of any type.

Todd does go through the hypermiling techniques that he is using to get close to 25mpg out of his 3 Series Wagon in the city. It helps that he is battling with his wife, who is getting 32mpg out of an ’03 R53! I still have him beat with my 30mpg in the city, but I didn’t want to rub it in.

MTTS is almost here! We are going to be everywhere with our recorders, cameras and laptops posting all kinds of things here and at MF. But, if you want to make sure you get all of it when it happens, here are a few other places to stalk db follow along.

I’ll be posting all of my pictures at Flickr. Videos will be going into the feed at WR.tv and on the web at Viddler. And short updates via Twitter or FriendFeed should Twitter go down. Check the sidebar at my motoring blog for even more ways to follow along.

If you are close to any of the stops along the Miami to Boston Rally, let us know! We would like to do something at every stop. And, they do say the more the merrier!

  1. Well, I’m not in Bahrain anymore (thankfully!), so I’m happy to pay $4 a gallon here in Texas. The trade off is entirely worth it. I’m getting around 27-28mpg in my JCW.

I’d like to see what other R53 JCW owners are getting, and what their hypermiling results are.

  2. DB,

Have you considered using a location tracking service such as BriteKite, Fire Eagle or Loki to track you progress driving from Miami to Boston? For those of us who can only live vicariously through you and Todd on the trip, it would be a great way to follow along…

  3. I have. But, as Gabe would say, here’s the thing. I don’t have an iPhone. Won’t get one before the trip. If I can find something that will work with my verizon phone well, I”ll use it (I’ll check some of the ones you listed). Otherwise twitter it will be.

  4. Hey,

Did you guys not like my suggestion to contact the guys at Tech Superpowers about podcasting while in Boston. I don’t know them except from Apple Podcasts like Macvoices and the articles about the T shirt in the Apple Store in Boston which was built on the same block as their Newberry St store.

    Cheers,

    Oz
