  1. About the auto windshield wipers, could it be because of ice? Say your windshield is completely frozen, having wipers on auto could just destroy the blades when the car is turned on. Probably a stupid comment due to my lack of knowledge about this technology…Liked the “old school” show btw.

    1. I’m not sure, but if manual wipers were left in the “on” position in cold weather, ice could be an issue also. Plus, the auto wipers don’t run unless the sensor detects something e.g. water but snow and ice would also qualify. And to complete the list of issues with MINI wipers, my 2003 MCS would return the wipers to the home position if they were running when you shut the car off. Starting in 2004 or 2005, if you shut off a MINI with the wipers on, they would stay where ever they were at the moment. This seems like a regression to me.

      1. Thanks for your response. I guess we should file that in the MINI “x-files” along with the non-auto up windows, non-auto sunroof closing, and the weird radio controls on the pre-LCI R56…;)
