Here some updates for MTTS.
If you are still in Monterey, Redwood Empire MINI Enthusiasts are hosting a meet and eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, located at 720 Cannery Row, at 7PM Sunday (today). Contact Robyn Saunders to RSVP.
For those of you continuing on into Texas, Metroplex MINI has put together a flyer for their car wash event and some helpful maps to help you navigate through Dallas to their event and the official MINIUSA event.
SOME FACTS ABOUT DEEP ELLUM
- Deep Ellum is the local (not tourist) bar scene in Dallas. Very Hip. Very Cool
- Being hip and cool, there is also very limited parking. Leave early to get there
- Being so close to the city, you will also deal with unfavorable city elements. Be careful
- THERE IS NO FREE PARKING IN DEEP ELLUM – EVER. Even the parking meters are watched 24/7
- MINI USA has FREE Valet Parking for all MTTS participants.
- The Gypsy Tea Room event will sell out. Once the venue is full, venue security will not allow further entrance.
Please arrive early to ensure entrance before the event.

Some more information for those coming to Dallas:
Between 2 and 5 pm that Saturday, the 2 local Dallas dealerships, MINI of Dallas and Moritz MINI have gotten together to offer a free KwikKar carwash – a $12 value – to any MINI driver wearing a MTTS red wristband. The carwash is 1.3 miles west of MacArthur on the north-side access road of 635, also known as LBJ Freeway.
Right by the carwash, the dealerships have found a Cajun restaurant, Razoo’s, that is offering 20% off all food orders between 2 and 5 pm to anyone w/ a MTTS wristband.
The local club, Metroplex MINI, will be running a service station in the Razoo’s parking lot from 2 until 5 pm. They will be checking and topping up vital engine fluids for you… torquing lug bolts and adjusting tire pressures. They will also have some detailing supplies, to help with that inevitable scratch or scuff from a road trip. Head on by the tan tent, say “Howdy” and get your car checked out for the long haul up to Lime Rock.
I got some time to drive around downtown this weekend and lock down the routes to and from Dallas HQ, the W Hotel. I’ve also updated the maps and instructions to reflect this (and fixed a few typos).

the link above has also been updated.
As I mentioned above, Metroplex MINI will be manning a ‘service station’ topping up engine fluids (coolant, oil, brake, washer) and checking/inflating tire pressures in the Razoo’s parking lot near the car wash.
Moritz MINI has graciously offered to provide the consumables for us, so you can rest assured that everything going into your brand new GP is up to the factory spec!
Three cheers for MORITZ MINI!
