Robert just hit 40K miles and there are a few issues going on with his MINI. He was in for service and shortly after it konked out on him on the streets of Toronto! Turns out his EWS was gone. That’s the part that lets the key talk to the car.

Then, he wasn’t able to open the passenger door without clicking the key 3 times.

He is starting to have problems with his clutch as well. Sounds like the same problems Todd had with his ’03. Anyone else having these problems?

Todd and I, after arriving in London, rushed out to Oxford in a Sparkling Silver R56 Cooper D. Once we arrived, we got the full tour. Of course, they let us record. Surprisingly, they also let us take pictures!

Nigel gave us our tour and he had answers to all of our questions and gave us more information than we knew what to do with! it was truly amazing to watch MINIs getting built and learn how it’s all done.

It was a great experience and highly recommended if you ever get the chance! HUGE thank you to everyone involved in making this happen for us.

Our intrepid hero again spending time on the track with an instructor and his MINI for your benefit.

Robert says.

The MINI Challenge: MINIs vs. somewhat reasonable competitors! Twisties, ABS tests, hard braking, shoelace turns and ‘S’ turns – we did ’em all. There was an obvious winner – and a good 2nd place finisher. Terrific sound on the track, lot’s of squealing tires. You’ll enjoy this – you’ll think you were there!

Outstanding yet again Robert! I’m sure all y’all will enjoy this.

Robert has really out done himself this time and think you all will be very pleased!

Robert says.

I spent part of Saturday at a track 200 kms from Toronto (www.shannonville.com). We met racers from Toronto and Montreal. Yesterday was MINImeet.ca reunion day.

I recorded amazing sound from the track. Before the rides, in the car (with a pro who talks through the whole track, MINI engine screaming), and after the rides with some of the hobbyist drivers, a passenger and a newbie. And all the while cars are whizzing by in the background.

This was great fun and I hope you all enjoy it!

This time, it’s Robert and Howard driving a Mellow Yellow R56 MCS.

You might remember Howard. He is the ex-Lincoln Navigator driver that Robert converted into a MINIac! He also has a Harley he likes to ride when Toronto isn’t covered in snow.

I know there are some of you out there that are dying for the RSS feed changes (each category of show will have it’s own feed). I promise I will be working on that right after AMVIV.

Robert takes us through the Toronto Auto Show, including a fair amount of time with the R56.

Listen close to the background music during this show. If you can imagine the cheesiest of 70’s and 80s songs, you will probably hear them.
