I’ve compressed down a small clip from the run Jason from
CooperSport.ca ran with my video setup. It’s an 18 second clip of a
biker that didn’t have the best of day (he dumped his bike at a very
low speed into the trees).
This is what happens when you don’t mind the dragon.
If anyone else has any video they would like to share and it’s reasonably sized, feel free to let me know and I’d be glad to post it!
Thanks for the clip Matt!
Shame shame shame. Those decreasing radius turns can really bite you.
From what I gather talking to Jason when he got back from taping this was that the guys shift peg broke on his bike. So he couldn’t downshift or something and ended up face planting in the bushes. That doesn’t quite make sense though as the bike has a clutch you could let out and brake to prevent something like that from happening. But it did happen pretty quickly so I’ll stop being and armchair quarterback.
Two words: EARLY APEX
By the way, does anyone know who’s MINI passed by in the other lane?
To clarify, the rider broke his shift peg, and a few other things on the bike, during the crash itself. Making for a long, slow ride back up the dragon in 1st gear. Dumping the bike was all rider error and nothing more. As you can see from the video, I stopped to lend a hand and the rider was fine, except for the bruised ego I’m sure.
